Today Tomorrow Ventures (TTV), Ethiopia

Today Tomorrow Ventures is an impact investment fund based in the US. Within the last decade 6 companies has been established in Ethiopia in various sectors. The goal of TTV is to make impact for individuals and communities. In addition, profits generated from these companies are meant to support STEM Power, a huge organization which is active across Africa and has the objective to bring children in touch with science. Or as stated by TTV itself ‘investing for the guard and his child’.

The companies went from startup-up to scale up and are all managed locally. In 2021, Quadraat Global was contracted to manage those portfolio companies on behalf of the shareholder. Quadraat Global is supporting the companies in the various business aspects such as finance, HR, sales, production, etc. We also take care of the (financial) reporting and we organize regular shareholders meetings. This all is partly done remote and partly while physically present during our regular visits to the companies.

Outsourcing the management to Quadraat Global has several advantages:
– We act as a bridge between local management and shareholders
– Due to a diverse team within Quadraat Global and an extended network there’s always knowledge available for every discipline
– We are more or less in the same time zone with Africa compared to the US
– Travelling to Africa is less complicated from The Netherlands compared to the US
– As third party we’re at distance which allows us to take bold decisions when needed
